Lynn University announced it is an Apple Distinguished School for 2019–22. This marks the fourth consecutive Apple Distinguished School designation recognizing Lynn for innovation in learning, teaching and academic accomplishment.
Lynn launched its award-winning iPad-powered learning curriculum in 2013. In the years since, the university upgraded to iPad Pro, launched a digital press to support mobile learning and unveiled Lynn 2025—a strategic plan to engage, elevate, and expand through innovative curriculum, technology and campus design.
Most recently, Lynn demonstrated how athletes and coaches use iPad technology to support their success.
According to Chief Strategy and Technology Officer Christian Boniforti, Wi-Fi-enabled buses and training facilities allow student-athletes to hone their sports and stay on track to graduation. “Our mobile ecosystem helps student-athletes and coaches stay productive on the road,” he said.
Despite rigorous travel and training schedules, the Fighting Knights earned an average GPA of 3.25 during the 2018–19 academic year; 10% scored a perfect 4.0.
Coaches and athletes also stay connected on the court with iPad and useful apps including Video Delay and VidSwap that provide access to live stats and instant replays. Teams can evaluate performance, opponent tendencies and strategy in real time.
Lynn continues to expand its use of technology in the classroom for all students. In 2019, it was one of the first institutions to pilot Everyone Can Create, a free curriculum designed by Apple to help educators integrate creative skills into every subject that they teach. The university also plans to integrate Everyone Can Code, Apple’s comprehensive program that gives everyone the power to learn, write and teach code.
