PBCMS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to uniting physicians to serve the common interest of the profession, developing and maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards of the medical profession, advocating the interests of physicians and their patients, and collaborating with others to improve the community’s health. For over 20 years, the BDB has focused on supporting growth of the Life Sciences in Palm Beach County.  In 2004, the State of Florida, Palm Beach County, and Town of Jupiter began to make the investments necessary to bring Scripps, Max Planck, and FAU’s life sciences research to Jupiter.

Since then, a vibrant life sciences community evolved in Palm Beach County to include over 700 companies primarily engaged in R&D or manufacture of biotechnologies, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or in the environmental and biological sciences. A few years ago, a Life Science Advisory Council was created to oversee the plan of growing the life science industry in Palm Beach County and a tool utilized to promote the biotech hub is the BDB’s life science website, www.lifehelix.org

It’s because of the support from the BDB’s partners that Palm Beach County is staying ahead of the game in innovative economic development strategies.
