Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing has launched a new second-degree part-time track in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at FAU’s Davie campus, 3200 College Ave., in Davie.
FAU’s new BSN degree is designed to prepare working professionals with a bachelor’s degree or higher in another discipline, as professional nurses who are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®) to secure licensure as a registered nurse.
The new program will commence on Saturdays beginning this August, and FAU’s College of Nursing will start accepting applications on Friday, March 15. The application period closes on Monday, July 15.
“The part-time track we are offering in the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing enables students to continue working while they pursue their nursing degree,” said Karethy Edwards, Dr.PH, associate dean for academic programs in FAU’s College of Nursing. “Our college is ranked highly in the state of Florida as well as nationally, because of our innovative and cutting-edge programs that advance careers in nursing.”
Course scheduling formats for the program will include a live class one evening a week, as well as on weekends, through online courses, and live-streaming delivery course formats. With enrollments during six consecutive semesters, students can complete their BSN degree in two years.
Features of the program include a dedicated state-of-the-art education facility on FAU’s Davie campus, clinical experiences in Broward County, and a dedicated program adviser who guides the students in the working professional BSN track with the same sequence of classes and educational support from admission to graduation. The VIP concierge service is a full-service, all-inclusive BSN track specifically designed for those who have busy personal and professional commitments, as well as those who prefer the convenience of a full-service, structured cohort program.
Program tuition is $719.84 per credit hour and is the same rate for Florida residents, out-of-state residents and international students. The tuition covers assessment technology fees (approximately $1,500), testing fees, a parking permit, student ID card, catered refreshments and snacks, uniforms and lab coat, equipment, graduation regalia, recording of select courses, a pre-program orientation and a graduation banquet.
FAU’s College of Nursing methods of payment include financial aid, tuition reimbursement for students who receive tuition payments from employers and a self-pay option. A convenient installment payment plan is available to students who choose the self-pay option.
