The Florida Atlantic University Brain Institute and Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine is proud to announce the recruitment of Ning Quan, Ph.D., Professor of Biosciences and Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research at Ohio State.
Quan will soon relocate his National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded laboratory to the FAU John D. MacArthur Campus at Jupiter.
“I am very excited to be joining the Brain Institute and FAU College of Medicine,” said Dr. Quan.
“I see many opportunities for collaborations and research innovation and look forward to becoming a member of this vibrant neuroscience community.”
For more than 20 years, Quan has studied the impact of inflammatory signaling on brain structure and function and is well-known for the novel genetic approaches he uses to dissect the healthy and pathological consequences of inflammatory signaling. “Dr. Quan will help the Brain Institute initiate a program in neuroimmunology and help broaden the opportunities of our neuroscientists to investigate how the periphery and the world around us impacts brain function,” said Randy D. Blakely, Ph.D., Executive
Director of the FAU Brain Institute. In addition to his research, Quan serves as the Chief Editor of the Journal of Inflammation Research. Quan plans to join FAU in May of 2019.
