SENIORS IN THE MEDICAL ACADEMY AT BOYNTON BEACH HS EARN PRESTIGIOUS INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION

Twenty seniors in the Medical Academy at Boynton Beach High School beat the national average when every one of them passed the National Academy of Sports Medicine Sports Medicine-Certified Personal Trainer Industry Certification (NASM-CPT) exam.

The NASM-CPT exam, typically offered to students at a college level, has an overall pass rate of 61 percent across the country. “[The 100 percent pass rate] is unheard of, extremely impressive and truly illustrates their hard work, dedication, and relentless motivation,” said Jessica Rhoades, the school’s Medical Academy instructor.

The students are members of the first graduating class of the Medical Academy at Boynton Beach High School and the first set of students from the school to take the exam after their completion of Health and Wellness 3,  an extremely rigorous course aligned with college-level curriculum.

“The NASM-CPT is a very prestigious and impressive certification for anyone to obtain,” Rhoades said.

With the certification, these students are able to work as personal trainers in any health and wellness club in the United States.
