The Jupiter Life Science Initiative is aimed at building educational and research capabilities in the life sciences on FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter, and is a collaborative effort between the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science and the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College.

Biopharma Finds New World in Jupiter
Florida Atlantic Univeristy partners with Scripps and Max Planck to establish a research colony. Today, FAU stands at the center of an emerging hub where faculty members and students carry out research within the university and through collaborations with two top-tier institutes also in Jupiter, The Scripps Research Institute (Scripps Florida) and Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience. Both institutions have established permanent facilities on MacArthur campus.

BOCA REGIONAL ONE OF ONLY EIGHT SITES IN U.S. TO OFFER ZENITH T-BRANCH STENT GRAFT
Endovascular surgeons at Boca Raton Regional Hospital are now utilizing the Zenith® t-Branch™ Stent Graft to repair life-threatening thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAAs). The device and surgical technique is only available at eight centers in the country. Boca Regional is the only hospital in South Florida and one of two in the state, the other being the University of Florida, to offer the t-Branch.
An aortic aneurysm is an abdominal enlargement of a section of the aorta that is at least twice its normal size, or approximately two and a half inches across. Once an aortic aneurysm reaches this size or larger, the wall of the aorta becomes so thin that it can rupture and lead to sudden death.

MODERNIZING MEDICINE’S SPECIALTY-SPECIFIC EHR SYSTEM TOP RATED BY KLAS
Modernizing Medicine, Inc., the creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), a cloud-based, specialty-specific electronic health record (EHR) system, announced today that EMA Dermatology® has been rated the top EHR system for dermatologists in the inaugural KLAS® “Ambulatory Specialty 2016 One Size Does Not Fit All Performance Report.”
KLAS, best known for its “Best in KLAS: Software and Services” report, has recognized that one size does not fit all and for the first time published research naming the top-performing companies within individual specialties based on the feedback of their customers.
